Flaws
Experiencing one's flaw feels like dread or even regret—a nauseating pit in your stomach and mind. It's a warning sign, you know you shouldn’t keep doing "a thing" because it feels bad. Like stepping into an unfamiliar, dark basement but you can't tell what exactly is wrong.
For example, your flaw is wrath. You lash out at your friends. You feel a sickening pit in your stomach during the act and it lingers after. It’s not right but you’re not sure why…Was it because the argument got too heated? Your nerves? Did someone say something that made you feel horrid? But you never felt that terrible in a scuffle. What...was it?
Simply put, It's a Khroma's natural defense against becoming evil! They don’t know what it'll lead to. Of course, that’s only doing your flaw a few times. After a bit, you begin to dull, and those feelings become numb as other side effects (listed below) take over.

Why?The feelings of nausea, dread, and regret feels far more tasteful to me. It leads to a mystery and can add to a character not realizing they're slipping into an agonizing rabbit hole.
It stops the Khroma from going 'My flaw is [x]! I wonder why it's bad to have a flaw, lol!' as Khroma do not know the darker truths of their world. It helps if its vague! |
Stages of Dulling
Stage 1
Bright, Vibrant, and Clear! You feel great. You’re the ball of positivity everyone loves!
Stage 2
Identifiable, spots of Grey. You feel a little anxious. Thoughts of your flaw and negativity pop in infrequently. It's a little nerve-wracking to transform, to fight for what's right. But it's just a little stage fright.
Stage 3
Glossy, lacking Life. Impulsive thoughts. Some notice changes to your personality. You feel sickish. Undeniably, drained too. If your friends weren't there, would you fight? Dreariness beckons, sometimes transforming you.
Stage 4
Hues of Grey. Your color barely shows, resembling loose spiderwebs of color. Actions are irrational and driven by negativity. You become obsessed with all that hurts you, like a mess you can't look away from.
Stage 5
Grey. A single mistake and you become your worst enemy. You'll hurt everything, everyone. You'll destroy the world for the pain it's thrown upon you. Everything is so unfair.
